Nuclear Winter
“The real reason for my residence here in Manchester are Karl Marx and his friend F. Engels”.
Nico, Cible mouvante, Pauvert, 2001
“There is a sort of happiness about sad things”.
Trouser Press/July 1979, “Strange interlude with Nico”
Nuclear Winter deals with the figure of Nico, the nomadic and unclassifiable singer who spent the last years of her life in the city of Manchester. Based on her diary, the autobiography of her son Ari, who was at her side at the time, and various biographical elements, the project questions aspects of her life through a series of views of the different neighbourhoods she lived in or passed through.
